Nicky Thomas

Nicky Thomas has worked in arts media relations for 15 years. Seven years at London’s Barbican Centre involved PR for the classical and contemporary music programmes and corporate communications for the Centre’s 25th birthday celebrations. In January 2008, Nicky Thomas set up her own media consultancy and is based in London working for clients across Europe.

Career highlights include collaborating with a diverse array of artists and music organisations such as English National Opera, Musica per Roma, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre, the Manning Camerata and Les Talens Lyriques, on a wide range of projects, from music to opera, festival of maths and hybrid multi-arts genres.

Having studied Classics (Latin & Greek) at King’s College London and Bologna University in Italy with part-time courses in piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and with the Head of Keyboard at the Conservatorio di Bologna, Nicky Thomas moved straight into a career in music.

As an Associate Producer, Nicky has worked with film director Phil Grabsky on the critically acclaimed documentaries In Search of Mozart and In Search of Beethoven. For her clients, she now produces short promotional videos and films (click through to promovideos) with a team of specialist directors, cameramen and editors.
